- 3-4 cups Vegetable [url] broth ∞http://amzn.to/2juRet2[/url] (3 cups for thicker chili)
- 16 oz bag of lentils (I used red lentils,but any will work.Green lentils cook more al dente)
- 1 -2 tsp olive oil
- Your favorite barbecue rub or seasoning.I used a [url] Paleo BBQ rub ∞http://amzn.to/2iQKa8b[/url] or chili seasoning mix.约2-3茶匙（如果含盐量高，reduce amount you use or taste first.
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp ground mustard
- optional 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 cup of diced bell peppers (extra for topping)
- 1/2 c to 2/3 cup diced tomatoes or canned tomatoes (drained)
- sea salt/black pepper to taste
- Protein Option- Use BBQ tempeh,豆腐，素食无麸质汉堡。These options might not be gluten free though so read labels.
- Toppings of choice – Cilantro,roasted pumpkin seed,红辣椒片营养酵母。See notes for more.
- First make sure your vegetables are chopped and lentils are rinsed.
- Pour the lentils in a strainer and rinse thoroughly.接下来把洗过的扁豆放在你的瓦罐or slow cooker.Add 1½ to 2 times as much broth as lentils,anywhere between 3-4 cups.
- Add in your onion,oil,西红柿，BBQ sauce,and other vegetables,such as chopped peppers and garlic.混合在一起。
- Next add your molasses and seasoning.Add salt and pepper the last 10 to 15 minutes of cooking.

- Keeps well in fridge for up to 5-7 days.
If you are not vegan,feel free to add in sausage or other meat.
Vegans can up their protein by adding in tofu or tempeh last 30-45 minutes of cooking
